Welcome to Developing Choices for greater Christchurch, the website about the preliminary draft Land Use Recovery Plan

This website provides background information on the development of a plan to decide where and when future housing, business and infrastructure should be provided in greater Christchurch.

The Land Use Recovery Plan is a major milestone in the recovery process following the Canterbury earthquakes. It puts land use policies and rules in place to assist rebuilding and recovery of communities (including housing and businesses) that have been disrupted by the earthquakes, helping to achieve the vision of the Recovery Strategy for Greater Christchurch: Mahere Haumanutanga o Waitaha.

As at 6 December 2013, current information (including the final Land Use Recovery Plan document which has now been approved by the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery, Gerry Brownlee and gazetted) is available at www.cera.govt.nz/lurp.

Environment Canterbury is undertaking a review of the LURP as required under Section 5.4 of the LURP.
